I hope some of you are just as disappointed as I am that my first review on this blog is not for a lipstick, as the name of this blog suggests that it should be.  But because I received this product for free to review, I have a duty to do just that and I've been putting it off for long enough.  And have a written a lippie review in the meantime?  NO.  So I should just stop kidding myself and get on with this review...

So to start out, I will say that I thought this product was O.K.  Nothing special.  I don't have dandruff, scalp psoriasis, seborrhea dermatitis, or any of the things that this shampoo is supposed to help with, so I really can't speak to its abilities in that area.  I used to have some itchy scalp issues before switching to Head & Shoulders about 7 years ago, and since they didn't magically come back while using this shampoo instead of my trusty usual I will assume that it works well enough.

So why was this just O.K.?  I mean shampoo is shampoo, right?  Well that is true.  There is absolutely nothing wrong with this shampoo.  Sure, I didn't really like the smell.  Maybe it was my fault for expecting it to smell a bit more... earthy, for lack of a better descriptor. It is a MUD shampoo, so I thought I would open the bottle and be hit with the smell of mud. Maybe that isn't what everyone would want, but I wouldn't have minded.  What I got instead was just a typical soap smell.  Again, not bad, but I was a little sad.  And sure, the rather of this shampoo as typical.  Didn't even disappoint, I'll be honest.  Although the image that accompanies the above image but rather shows a bowl full of mud is rather deceiving because the consistency of the shampoo is nowhere near the texture or thickness of mud; again, it is just like a basic soap.  But anyway, it all just adds up to a very average shampoo.  So I wouldn't discourage anyone from using this shampoo, but do I think its worth $27.50?  No, I really don't.  While I do have long, thick hair, I've only been using this once a week for about six weeks and have already gone through half the bottle (which holds 220 ml/7.4 fl. oz. of product), meaning it won't last you long.  Maybe if you are desperate to soothe your itchy/dry/flaky scalp and have tried many, MANY other products to no avail, but otherwise I think there are cheaper, more readily available (read: available at a store you would otherwise be at; not only online) products that could do better things for your hair.

I did also write a review on Amazon that sums up my thoughts that I have presented here. If you would like to check that out, here is the link:  http://www.amazon.com/review/R1DDWUXV0LTK0O/ref=cm_cr_rdp_perm
